Florida legislature approves six-week abortion ban, cutting off critical access point for abortion care in the South

Those numbers have been an impetus for stricter restrictions, Florida Republicans say.

“If people from Florida are now going to be flooding into the Carolinas and Illinois … that is taking spots that Alabamians and Mississippians need right now,” said Robin Marty, director of operations at West Alabama Women’s Center, a clinic that provided abortions beforeAdvertisement “In the course of just two generations, we’ve seen our rights won and lost,” Florida Senate minority leader Lauren Book said on the Senate floor in early April, hours before she was arrested at an abortion rights protest. “It’s up to us to get them back. No one is going to save us but ourselves.”

“If anyone tells you differently, they are misinformed,” she said, before the amendment was defeated by a vote of 33-80.

Why do Americans care, in particular the GOP, and fanatics whether a woman has a baby or not? I call the crusaders. They feel good about inserting themselves into people’s personal lives, but share no accountability for the outcome. Women should sue the State for the 20year cost

Checkmate atheists

It is time to Constitutionally guarantee the RIGHT to obtain reproductive medical care, marriage equity, and protecting personal and private information. Ratify the Privacy Amendment now.

2 months is a long time. Take birth control. And be responsible. This isn’t that difficult.

It's critical to kill your child now.

👏👏👏

Fuck this religious shit. I really hope Florida youth gets out to vote. That state is turning into a fascist nightmare.

Democrats owned

FWIW, there are exemptions for rape, incest, medical complications, and fatal fetal abnormalities. I do think they should at least extend it to 9-10 weeks, as some may not have symptoms until then. Idk what is considered medical complication or “fatal fetal abnormalities.” But…

tehran florida. legislators r coming after ALL OF YOU RED BLUE OR INDEPEND

Awesome!!!

Jesus Christ

Woman were warned this would happen, lets hope it's not to late to convince their male counter part to help stand against this madness and turn this around. Next Republicans will be going after Vaccines.

Over 50% of Americans are women. All they have to do is vote democrat to fix this.

Awesome

Sad setting women back decades. Not sure why some think all women want to give birth? Rape victims no choice. Just imagine if this was a mask against a deadly virus taking real breathing humans. Oh yea🤔

Where will all the Floridians go to get their abortions? It's not like this Christian theocracy is going to make women decide to become a mother when they didn't want to be.

BOYCOTTFLORIDA

This is unthinkable! It will affect every decision a woman makes-healthcare, where they go to college or ultimately live. What to do if you are poor and need healthcare…It is vital to win these state seats so this abhorrent behavior does not continue! womenschoice

Guns without permits while abortion in limited to 6 weeks.

Good

All women who are fertile should leave Florida immediately

Florida makes treatment for miscarriages & pregnancy complications illegal unless the woman is at death's door. When my mother faced this nightmare in 1971, a judge decreed she wasn't 'close enough to death' for the procedure. She bled out for 18 hours & was left infertile at 32.

Great,it's a right decision.

and DeSantis will sign it and then complain that he is losing support among women, young voters and the working class and call them 'woke'. Thing is, this is an election loser for him. May as well hand Trump the nomination after he signs this attack on women.
