What happens to access to abortion pills now?
Abortion clinics and providers said they are considering options for patients as the legal fight over mifepristone continues. A two-drug regimen of mifepristone and misoprostol is the gold standard for safe and effective medication abortions, according to ACOG. Misoprostol alone can be used to terminate pregnancies and is an acceptable option if mifepristone is unavailable, ACOG said. The misoprostol-only regimen is less effective than the two-drug option, research shows.
The misoprostol-only regimen has an efficacy rate of upward of 80% when administered during the first trimester of pregnancy, studies have shown.or received blood transfusions related to the procedures, according to a 2019 meta-analysis. The additional risk to patients taking abortion pills at home is minimal, so long as the medication is acquired from reliable sources, said Nisha Verma, an obstetrician-gynecologist and ACOG fellow.
Can we all agree that both sides have very extreme views. No you can't abort a baby in the third trimester, but no, it's not a baby yet at 6 weeks or 10 weeks. If there's no heartbeat, it's not alive, so why wouldn't we want people to be able to end a pregnancy so early?
And I KNOW there was no doctor on that court.
America on a path back to the Middle Ages. What was once a great country has become a country where it’s easier to buy a gun and kill someone than it is to have control over your own body.
The first amendment guarantees us the right to NOT have ‘christian’ religious beliefs forced into our laws. That includes THEIR opinion on when life begins and abortion care. MY faith guides MY reproductive choices!ElectionsMatter ComplacencyIsComplicity
