Gov. Sanders says she hopes the law will empower parents to help protect their children from harmful aspects of social media platforms. "We know that social media, while it can be a great tool, and it's something a lot of us use on a daily basis and can be a great resource, can also be really dangerous for young kids. Depression, loneliness, suicide rates among teenagers have doubled since social media became so widespread," Sanders told Fox News Digital in an interview.
The law is targeted at the most popular platforms like TikTok, Instagram and Twitter, since it only applies to business with over $100 million in annual gross revenue.Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more Fox News politics content.
SarahHuckabee I love that idea
SarahHuckabee Good
SarahHuckabee And how the hell is that going to work? Like parents are with their kids 24/7? How about making parents responsible if minors use guns?
SarahHuckabee What happens if they lie? Isn’t this a first amendment issue? That’s federal.
SarahHuckabee Wait I thought ya’ll hated big government- telling what you can or can’t do
SarahHuckabee And pathetically requires applicants to say how much they like her. WTAF?
SarahHuckabee Good luck
SarahHuckabee Mainly empty posturing. Shove it off on the parents. They'll just greenlight app usage. We need to keep kids off social media till about the age of 17.
SarahHuckabee
SarahHuckabee sounds good,,how to enforce in one state?
SarahHuckabee Maybe for the half of adults that aren't educated beyond grade 6 reading level too.
