UPDATED: Victoria, Nanaimo among 12 B.C. cities to get new hubs targeting violent crime

Posted: Apr. 12, 2023 8:23AMPremier Eby announced this afternoon that Nanaimo will be home to one of the 12 new hubs dedicated to monitoring prolific reoffenders of violent crime.

On Vancouver Island, hubs will open in Victoria and Nanaimo, where much has been made of a spike in reported violent incidents.

Not soon enough but really wonder if it will make a huge difference

This is more money pumped into something that is a political move. Crown not receiving total back ground on Repeat offenders, wrong as x member Crown receives it but Crown decides how much they want the court to hear. We need changes to the CCC and in court decisions

What a bunch of wishful thinking: that a bunch of talk and info sharing is going to stop freaks randomly stabbing citizens on the street
