This is the second time this week that former Perlis menteri besar Azlan Man is being charged in court.
KUALA LUMPUR: Former Perlis menteri besar Azlan Man pleaded not guilty to five charges of money laundering amounting to RM1.06 million in the sessions court here this morning. Azlan, 64, was charged under Section 4 of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 with receiving the funds from two tour companies – Sri Kedawang Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd and Aidil Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd.
The money was alleged to have been deposited into his bank accounts between February 2014 and December 2017. On Monday, Azlan had claimed trial in the Kangar sessions court to five counts of submitting false overseas travel claims amounting to more than RM1.18 million between 2013 and 2017.
