Justice Department appeals Texas order halting abortion pill approval

U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, an appointee of Donald Trump, issued his decision Friday but ruled it would not take effect for seven days. The Biden administration in its filing with the New Orleans-based appellate court said the Texas “court’s extraordinary and unprecedented order should” remain on hold while it appeals.

The decision by a federal judge to revoke the FDA's approval of mifepristone has sparked strong reactions. Underlining that confusion, the Justice Department on Monday separately asked the federal court in Washington state for clarity. Many providers have to wait and see what legal filings are made between now and Friday before deciding what to do next, Jennifer Dalven, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Reproductive Freedom Project, told reporters.

Something is wrong with the system when one man in the country with no medical training can make a decision affecting the health of every woman in the country. 'Hey, you weren't ever killed, so you can't block killing.' This is the DOJ argument.

As a Christian on to the point where if people want to murder their kids let them do it. They will have to face the wrath of God. God knows the time of your conception, time of your birth and the time of your death. Lol you have women who are to old to even get pregnant protesting for their right to kill their baby. Justice Department calls abortion pill order 'unprecedented'The Justice Department is calling a Texas court ruling that would halt approval of the most commonly used method of abortion in the U.S. “extraordinary and unprecedented” as the government asks a federal appeals court to put the decision on hold. The request to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was filed just days after conflicting court rulings over the legality of the abortion medication mifepristone put in doubt access to the drug that has been widely available for more than 20 years. Since the GOP has cast off the chains of sanity… …Expect lots of “Unprecedented.” The abortion pill is a friend to many women that don't have many assets or family support. How did the people even have standing to bring this case?
