Robert Hastings, formerly of Overburn Avenue, appeared in Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week where he admitted to entering an insecure car and stealing sunglasses and a quantity of money on Glenfinnan Drive on December 28 last year.

The 48-year-old also attempted to open a locked car a few doors down on Glenfinnan Drive, with the intent to steal. He also pleaded guilty to being at a property on Glen Artney Road in Dumbarton on the same day without lawful authority with the intention of committing theft.When Hastings appeared in the dock from custody for sentencing, he told the sheriff 'it was all his fault'.nicked items worth more than £1,000 from Boots on the High Street.He told him:"I tried. I do think, maybe it is daft of me, that you are capable of doing something different with your life.
