Legal luminary, Olisa Agbakoba has said it is possible to conclude presidential election petitions in April, provided that the court systems are very

He noted that the tension around the call for an interim government was due to expectations that the tribunal may not deliver judgement before May 29.

His statement on Monday urged the presidential election tribunal to adapt the procedures very familiar with speedy conclusion of arbitration matters. “…The interpretation of Section 134 of the 1999 Constitution as to whether 25 percent of votes in the FCT is compulsory; Is a candidate permitted to stand for election when he is also a senatorial candidate?; Issues regarding qualification of APC candidates,” he said.

The SAN charged the tribunal and the Supreme Court to give the order, address the jurisdictional issues raised, and release final summary judgment.

I pity Nigerians because Judiciary will still be like Inec ,is only God that can save Nigerians by doing a miracle that no Nigerian will ever understand

What’s stopping them, let’s get this over with

Stop stampeding the tribunal pls.

U de find your cut

Apply for CJN post or seek the appointment... If not take the stand pls.. If we begin to dey rewrite const everyweek.... We can actually do well been lawlesa

If the sitting president is not compromised and have the Interest of the masses at heart, then this will be possible.

These are the real issues. 1. Bola Tinubu's 1993 Narcotics Trafficking & Money Laundering Case, and $460,000 Forfeiture. 2. 25% in FCT. 3. Forged Certificate. 4. INEC not following its guidelines. 5. Shettima's Double Nomination. 6. Election Rigging.

Why not in 3hrs, agbako eda

Yes oooo... Your lordship,Agbakoba!

My concern is that APC would may influence the judiciary after sworing in!!! I think we should enforce it in our electoral law that all electoral litigations MUST be sorted out before sworing into the office so as to avoid the power of incumbency!!!

Especially when you believe it would/should favour you. But in case it goes against you n ko?. We should rather keep our emotion away and face the reality.

But it won't.

Loud it foolish people everywhere.

Hen what are you waiting for

Agbako

LeWhiteFang I can't for our mandate to be reclaimed and guilt person been set to jail

Can his teeth handle mature agbado?

Pls did the tribunal said they will look into the matter in the next 180days?pls someone should update me

I swear if the Judiciary can decide these cases before swearing in all these nonsense will stop

The Kenyan Supreme Court Judges placed national interests, national unity and national security over the interests of the then incumbent President Kenyatta and his ruling party to pass this rare judgment just before the swearing-in ceremony. But it is rocket science in Nigeria.

Let it be so.

Why not in 7 minutes. Some people self are been overrated, they are very empty like this Agbakoagba.

Corruption is the sole reason why it takes the judiciary a million years to decide electoral disputes.

It shouldn't take more than a day for the justices to rule on 25% requirement of FCT

Kenya is far far above Nigeria is this democracy thing. Kenya settles all their electoral disputes in tribunal and up to the Supreme Court before swearing in of anybody.

Sound it out loud!!!!

What reforms did he bring to the judiciary as NBA president na when una comot for office una dey always know the right thing hypocrites

tonymclane Exactly I dont know what the 180 days is for,its supposed to be done and dusted before swearing in

This are the so called SAN we have in Nigeria. Their judiciary views are always emotional with public mood . I wonder how Tribunal is going to peruse the whole 700+thousands poling units in Nigeria in just 7 days.

Speed is of the essence!

They'd deliberately push it for months until the drugist gets sworn in

In a working system? yes. ALMIGHTY 🙌 abeg, for we know the people we're dealing with......in an awe of the extent of their evil but we cast all hope on You. Do what ONLY you can.

Lol 😂 😂 😂 they can actually do it in 3 days

Some body should tell him to wake up to reality he's sleeping, Law as Left him.

d question is, will they?

SaharaReporters will not see this one to carry o Highest bidder news outlets

Of course... electoral tribunal matters should be expedited to avoid swearing in the wrong candidate.

I have peace in this one

We saw it happen in Kenya

Don't mind channelstv and seunokin for that their 8months analysis , their intension are beginning to be obvious to people.

WHEREISTINUBU WHEREISTINUBU WHEREISTINUBU WHEREISTINUBU WHEREISTINUBU WHEREISTINUBU WHEREISTINUBU WHEREISTINUBU TinubuForPrison TIMELESS Tinubuisadrugbaron TinubuIsADrugDealer TinubuTheDrugDealer TinubuForPrison TinubuIsNotMyPresident

There will go. SAN. Agbakoba spoken.

Why not

ayemojubar If only corruption will allow them to do their job

It's Mazi Agbakoba SAN , just returned from space 🌌🚀, he doesn't know or have forgotten the judiciary he's talking about?

Especially this one that is as clear as day🤣 We're waiting! PETER OBI IS COMING 💪🏻

I agree,it happened in Kenya.

NnaemekaEdeh1 That is a must, we can't have a drug kingpin as president.

All dis confusionist ,,is dis d first time Nigeria is having tribunal cases, what does d law says,,y will dis man continue to create confusion? Will Nigeria seize to exist because ur prefer candidate lost? Dis how u brought d issue of 25%, FCT.

With the type of lawyers we have in Nigeria

Yes learned silk. All petitions regarding the presidential election should be decided before swearing date

Not in Nigeria I am very sure of that sir

Abi ooo

They won't because there will be need for enough time to collect from every side

180 days it is sir.

This Anamabra daddy is also one of the the thank you daddies everywhere around our judiciary space.

realFFK you are right

Kenya did it, electoral cases/ petitions should be resolved before any swearing in ceremony if we're serious about justice and maintaining public peace.

Unfortunately the Presidential election is not under the Arbitration rules and procedures!!

Why the rush? Let us follow due process.

Broadcast Presidential Election Tribunal Proceedings Live! Also, human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has backed calls for the televising of the presidential election tribunal proceedings. He made the comment while I think the same stand must be applied to every sitting of the national assembly. Also , all the federal executive Council meetings should be televised live if we want the judiciary to be subjected to live broadcast at election tribunal proceedings.
