Jury selection has begun in the trial of a U.S. Army sergeant charged with murder in the 2020 fatal shooting of an armed protester in Texas.

The suspect, who has yet to be identified, was taken into custody. – Jury selection began Monday in the trial of a U.S.

on charges of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct, a misdemeanor, in 2021. The trial comes after attempts from Perry’s team to throw out the case over the past year. In video that was streamed live on Facebook, a car can be heard honking before several shots ring out and protesters begin screaming and scattering. Police can then be seen tending to someone lying in the street.
