President Bongbong Marcos said the gov't has no other recourse than to disengage from any contact with the International Criminal Court after the tribunal rejected the PH's request to suspend the investigation into the Duterte administration's war on drugs

— President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the government has no other recourse than to disengage from any contact with the International Criminal Court after the tribunal rejected the Philippines' request to suspend the investigation into the Duterte administration's war on drugs pending a ruling on Manila's main appeal against the resumption of the probe.

"There is nothing more that we can do in the government and so at this point we essentially are disengaging from any contact, from any communication I guess with the ICC," he said."We cannot cooperate with the ICC considering the very serious questions about their jurisdiction and about what we consider to be interference and practically attacks on the sovereignty of the republic.

"This means while the appeals chamber considers the question, the prosecutor may proceed with investigation," ICC assistant to counsel Kristina Conti explained. In an interview with CNN Philippines on Tuesday, Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra said while it may appear a"dead end" for now on the part of the government, specific individuals whom the ICC may investigate can still question the tribunal's jurisdiction and the admissibility of the case.

Afraid of ICC

Maganda yang disengage contact ang ICC and PH Govt para walang kontsabahan. ICC should do their workload independently without relying on the cooperation of the PH govt.

before ICC interfere to the drug war in the philippines that actually helped improve the safety for the general public. ICC should focus on genocides by the likes of putin in ukraine and etc.

ICC should investigate the good the war on drugs did to affected families and people who actually feel relieved now, and actually feel safer now. ICC should not be one sided to the tainted media exagerations of the ‘bad thing’ on it

because the ICC is ignorant of the real pain drug related crimes had inflicted the country before duterte. on how frequent it was. and on how affected people had actually praised what duterte did. and how relieved the people had been after he actually did something to fight it.

All in favor of the members of the Unity-Team who committed these crimes?

Seen and block agad? galawang adik at kaangkan talaga ng mga human rights violators.. Rewind nga tayo kung anong mga abuso amg dulot ng martial law na drama at pakana ng ama mong abo na!🖕

Now you think investors flocking to invest in the Philippines when the rule of law doesn't exists. Failed to curb inflation, crumbling educational system, crumbling infrastructure, slow internet connection, Red tape ,food chain shortages, human rights violation. PBBM incompetent

What's next for ICC, issue arrest warrant? That's very good. Para may pampunas ng pwet si FPRRD sabay iflush sa inidoro 🤣🤣🤣 Inutil ang ICC

Matatapos na ang araw ng martes, tanga ka pa rin. Ukininam

Nice move Mr President.,.
