The minority caucus in the House of Representatives has congratulated the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, over the judgment of the Court of Appeal on Friday, which upheld his victory in the July 16, 2022 governorship election.

According to the caucus, Adeleke’s triumph at the appellate court was a “victory for democracy and a resounding affirmation of the expressed will of the people of Osun State in their quest for purposeful leadership and good governance in the state”.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had in a unanimous judgment on an appeal filed by Adeleke declared him as the winner of the poll. The appellate court set aside an earlier judgment by the state election petitions tribunal which annulled his victory in its majority judgement and pronounced the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Adegboyega Oyetola, as the winner of the election.

The Senator that brought up the bill is a suspect.
