A federal high court in Lagos has struck out a suit by the federal government seeking to recover the sum of N70 trillion alleged to be stashed in 29 bank accounts by some individuals.
The plaintiffs/applicants in the case are the federal government of Nigeria and the attorney-general of the federation/minister of Justice. Delivering judgment on the substantive suit, the judge criticised the federal government for not diligently prosecuting the suit. “The chambers of Femi Falana SAN that just filed notice of change of counsel on the last adjourned date have suddenly withdrawn appearance today.
