IPOH: Ipoh-born Eason Rajah has been appointed as a High Court judge in England.

According to the UK's Judiciary website, Eason's appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.When contacted, his mother Datin Gnana Rajah said she was proud and happy for her son."He has done some fairly important and big cases, which was why he was appointed," she said, adding that Eason Rajah's late father Datuk NT Rajah was a senior lawyer who passed away four years ago.

Eason had attended school in Malaysia and England before going on to study law at the University of Nottingham. Eason was called to the Bar in 1989 and held a general chancery practice, specialising in later years in international trust and estate litigation.He was authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in the Chancery Division in 2020.Article type: free
