KOTA KINABALU: A Filipino man has been sentenced to 24 months' jail by the Magistrate's Court here after he pleaded guilty to having a fake MyKad.

Mohamad Adzlan Said, 42, admitted to a charge under the National Registration Act that was read in front of magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun here on Friday .

The accused faced a maximum three years in jail or fine, or both, on conviction for the offence under Rule 25 of the National Registration Regulations 1990.
