Williamsport's board approves a $46,844 annual pension for former Lt. Thomas H. Ungard Jr.

The city police pension board Thursday night approved an annual pension for Thomas H. Ungard Jr. of $46,844 plus a lump sum payment of $278,684 to cover back payments.

He was found guilty of two counts of tampering with public records and obstruction of justice but acquitted of two other tampering counts and four of theft. The investigation that led to the attorney general’s charges stemmed from Ungard using a forfeited pickup truck in June 2006 to take then police Chief John McKenna on a Canadian fishing trip.
