Letter: People may avoid traveling to or even through Utah 'given the risk that they will not receive the health care they seek or, in emergencies, need.'

I am a business school professor and former mayor of the ski resort town of Alta and, in my opinion, too tightly regulated abortion and reproductive health care laws will greatly harm the tourism and other industries in our state.

My unit at my university saw an unusually small number of applicants for a recent job posting, for example, and I suppose that this decreased interest in our position is because of the pending restrictions on health care for women. I urge our citizens and our legislators to continue to further Utah’s reputation as a business-friendly state and protect those industries that depend on the wide popularity of companies that care about, employ, or cater to women from around the U.S. and the world. Please oppose limits on reproductive health care for the sake of our economy .

This only hurts the poor AGAIN. People with money and means will still access abortions. Oh sorry they say 'Procedure'

There is no such thing as an emergency abortion. Stop peddling fake news

But you elected these fools to make these unethical laws. Vote independent 2024 and you can make them stop cause the General Public Will be running this country not Wealthy lying federal Politicians

Good, don’t need those types of visitors to begin with.

I don’t think so… who are our visitors?: Hikers, skiers, Mormons, mountaineers.

Awesome

If I were them, I'd stay away because of Utah's motto, 'Come on vacation. Leave on Probation.'

What a crock of 💩 I mean you are the worst blog errrr non profit rag ever

Oh shit! I can’t stop and murder my baby while passing through on I80! What a fuckin clown ass take…

Right wing Utahns really don't want 'others' traveling through or visiting the state. If only there was a way to have those people leave their tourist dollars at the border without coming in.

Pro Abortionist: We hate Utah! We are leaving this horrible state! Utahns: Thank You. Travel safe!

Give me a fucking break 😂😂😂

How many baby murders can we fit in one place anyway.

I would avoid us, I'd like to actually pick my whole family up and move, sadly not everybody can afford to do that

I hope they do. We need help from other travelers and women. Utah hates women and women's right as well as health. Wish people would pull their businesses and events from here.

Who needs an abortion during an airport layover? Apparently Democrats do. If we can save even ONE unborn child then it’s worth it.

Good!?

Good stay away

1 health care is available to everyone some of us just have to pay for it. 2. Tubal ligation/vasectomy prevention not termination (💀 💀💀) 3 exceptions will alway need to be had. Only dummies believe otherwise

Let kids die so you can make more money

I’m avoiding Utah because you’ve lost your damn minds. The Mormon church choosing bigotry and covering up abuse of kids and your crazy governor taking more rights away from women!! People come from far and wide to visit places in Utah like Bryce, they shouldn’t come anymore.

Utah does not care about women. Not the ones who live here. Not the ones who travel here. The mostly white, old, male legislature only cares about control and $. These are the folks we've elected. We need to DoBetter. AbortionIsHealthcare AbortionIsAWomansRight utpol utleg

Lol..

“I might unexpectedly need an abortion” doesn’t really seem like a thing people consider when planning an a vacation. Will they be cornered by coyotes or lost in a canyon so long they can’t get to Las Vegas or Denver?

Abortion which takes the life of another human being is not healthcare. Utah law allows abortion under medical emergencies.
