A man charged over the death of a teenager at a worksite in Perth has gone on trial, arguing worker safety was not his responsibility.

Ms Hollaway said Mr Corderoy made a lot of decisions and had authority to act on behalf of the company. The court was told Mr Corderoy and Mr Forsyth were both working at the site at the time of the tragedy. He told the court he was happy to do design work for ICS but "wanted nothing to do with fabrication, or running of staff or installation".

Well unfortunately for him the law clearly states you have a duty of care ...That actually means workers ...So he just hung himself....Hope he rots in prison..

Unless individual company directors are held personally responsible, no improvement to safety will be made. Both directors were on site, both are equally and directly responsible for this preventable death. Reasonable jail terms must be imposed upon them, anything else is a joke.

Good. More people should say that.

'You do you' becomes the national mindset.

Well, that's a failure of OHS training. First thing they say is on a worksite, safety is everybody's job.
