Both the federal government and the CBN have made no official move to enforce the order of the supreme court, despite public outrage.

The editorial also berated the CBN for failing to adhere to the ruling of the Supreme Court on the old naira notes. It noted that the cash withdrawal limit imposed by the central bank is an infringement on the human rights of the people.

The governments of Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara had filed a suit against the federal government at the Supreme Court, seeking an order to invalidate the CBN’s recent move to make old denominations of N200, N500 and N1000 illegal tenders.

Not that I'm holding brief for Emefiele, you've not called for the arrest of his principal, Buhari post May 29, 2023. You pretend not to note the severe electoral malfeasance of ProfMYakubu1 and call for his arrest.

Emefiele got no plan, he's just naive. Everything he's doing now is in Favour of APC, with his head like coconut.

We will just be deceiving ourselves , so Nigeria is now better overnight that he will be arrested and prosecuted ? Who wan arrest am and prosecute am ? This same government or incoming one ? 😂😂😂

Just to think of it. Was Emefiele sued? If I can recollect, it is the president that the Governors took to Supreme Court

Go and arrest him now and stop disturbing internet people

Good to ask for, but what other positive contributions has made to Nigeria than this?

Buhari first

First arest buhari you only have mount to talk when is igbo person been used by fulani

When a fish head is rotten, what do you think the body will be?

Few days remains!👐

What inec

Tried were, in a court that is just a mere beer parlour words battle ground now? where who has the money wins and the losser needs not abide by the ruling because no repercussion whatsoever.

But you did not ask to arrest INEC chairman for the same offence.Premium times is part of the structure of criminality.

Who is the originator of illegality and impunity?

He is not the problem, they president is, why are all of you, afraid of the president?

Suffering Nigerians for reason whatsoever in a country that does not care about her own. You make money finish, and send it to the bank for safekeeping only for the bank to want to hold back what is rightful not theirs.

Then what about Inec chairman. Please be wise

Buhari should be impeached

He should be in custody already

Investigative what again, how long will it take you to investigate INEC. To fight for democracy, fight for the entrance process to be right. Every other things will fàll in place automatically

True.

While you are at it, remember the Yakubu Mahmood needs to be arrested too for voilating court orders, too.

Absolute nonsense.

What happens to Buhari himself? I thought CBN was not included in the suite but FG. We need to be sincere to ourselves. Buhari was the one ordered to stop the policy and not CBN but we always choose the weaker prey to prey on

And, what does want for Mahmood Yakubu?

INEC should first be arrested

cenbank Governor Godwin Emefiele is guilty of economics sabotage, a crime punishable by Nigeria extant laws, for destroying millions of MSMEs, families and relationships. He's also guilty of contempt for disobeying supreme Court judgement

Direct your anger to Buhari emefiele takes order from him

It is not CBN that is barking it is d work of d king and those in d palace. It is painful for him that he will soon bcum an ex & is doing everything to destroy d country and create chaos.D king want to cause unrest that will prevent other king not to rule after him. Watch out

'We cannot build democracy on the back of impunity and illegality'. That one is for you Mahmood Yakubu inecnigeria. I want arrest warrant issued for the INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu immediately.

How about INEC? Your hypocrisy stinks

'...is neither able nor willing to do right by the country on this matter. This will be the legacy of his eight-year rule. But we cannot continue to allow acts of criminal conduct to define our democracy.' Thanks, Premium Times❤️❤️

'We cannot build a democracy on the back of impunity and illegality. But there is also the charge of economic sabotage. If the first is criminal. The second is treasonous. Alas, President Buhari, himself a scofflaw, as noted by the Supreme Court...'

'This is as much about the outcomes of his policy, and as the Supreme Court’s ruling points to, as it is about the thoughtlessness that goes into his policy design. However, rule breaking is why we would want Mr Emefiele to be arrested and tried.'

'PREMIUM TIMES has made several calls for Mr Emefiele to be relieved of his office. These calls were premised on growing doubt as to his fitness for office. If we took the CBN’s main price stability remit as our point of departure, Mr Emefiele’s incompetence is incontrovertible'

'It is in the nature of these contemnors of the laws of the land, that the respective shareholders of the businesses they head should act to bring them to book. We cannot build a democracy where scofflaws run the financial services space.'

'Along with Mr Godwin Emefiele, therefore, Nigerian banks’ chief executives have been responsible for inflicting pains on domestic economic actors that have continued to hurt the economy, while in the recent case, acting in gross contempt of the country’s laws.'

Inec chairman is guilty of similar offences. They should be arrested

Ditto!

'Mr Godwin Emefiele continues to offer a signal lesson in disdain for the mores and laws of the land. Whether it was his earlier bid to be president, or his decision to be in contempt of the Supreme Court. Bank chief executives, on the other hand, have failed to cover themselves'

Go and arrest INEC Chairman that is disobeying the court and blocking access to evidence. Biased paid media...

Waste of time, story, story

Supported Court gave order he refused to obey .. in a sane country he should be in jail by now. Banks will tell you, you can not return old note after collecting from them.

Until after the governoship election, forget it.

I think we need to arrest buhari instead

That should be done as soon as possible. Emiefele is a menace and a threat to Nigeria's Democracy.

tsg2023 GodwinIEmefiele

a

This is Nigeria, not UK, sadly so.

De play, continue to de play, y e b say na APC members and their news paper e de pain pass.... CBN is in charge of Fiscal policy period.

I also want him arrested.

Nothing will happen to Emefiele, he is Buhari's boy & Tinubu will be cautioned not to worry him.

Arrested and prosecuted for what exactly? The Buhari administration has caused untold hardship to citizens of Nigeria through horrible policies in the past 8 years and not once have I read that Premium Times called for the prosecution of key ministers for their wrong policies.

By the way, it was the federal government that was taken to court, not CBN or Emefiele. If anyone is refusing to obey the court it is FG. Why can't PREMIUM TIMES grow some balls to call for Buhari's resignation, even his prosecution?

I'm sorry, but what PREMIUM TIMES wants and what PREMIUM TIMES will get aren't the same thing. You're acting like you don't know he's currently under the protection of some powerful people. Those are the ones pulling his strings. Those are the ones you should want prosecuted.

Una sef, Go to Court first. No room for lamentation.

After being a useless blog … ediots
