The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to amend the orders that were granted to candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively, to inspect materials used for the last presidential election. The Commission, in a motion on notice filed on March 4, is praying the court to vary the order, which restrained it from tampering with materials used for the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to amend the orders that were granted to candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party , Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively, to inspect materials used for the last presidential election.

INEC said it needed to reconfigure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System for the next round of elections. The application filed by the Commission is asking the court to vary the order to allow it to reconfigure its BVAS for the March 11 governorship and state houses of assembly elections. “If the data is going to be tampered with, then there is no need using the same one for the next election. They have to provide another one.

Lagos lawyer, Festus Ogun, noted: “In my opinion, I think the court is functus officio. By making the order, INEC cannot go back to the court, seeking to vary its order, unless they can prove fraud or misrepresentation.

This guys should buried their head in shame, see their faces like current Nigeria problems, that Okoye man should be in jail now for deceiving Nigerians

The transperency of our country is more important than any Elections

If INEC can conduct Elections without configuration then it should suspend the Elections until investigations are made. It's their strategy to delete evidence.

inecnigeria it's just 5 days to the election. You guys can't lie to the public to have the man power to configure 176k plus BVAS machines where u spent 4 years and couldn't gve us a free and fair election. ARISEtv CTVpolitics NgLabour OfficialPDPNig INECLeaveBVASalone

There's foul play here. No reconfiguration is needed. Hardwares can store data upon data in it's memory bank. Leave the initial data intact for inspection first. What are you scared of?

Nigeria… NINASisRight TransitionNow EndSARS

INEC should comply with the court order asap, in order to be done with the inspection quickly; and then get on with the next elections. That'll show transparency, and negate allegation by international observers of a lack of transparency. Unless---? presidentialelectionresults

Shame on Inec. Just imagine the embarrassment

Shame on you, Yakubu Manmood, for bringing this chaos upon over 200 million people because of one man who wants to govern by fire or force. Justice must prevail whether you like it or not . Shame on you, Mr INEC.

Why should they? They should not! Criminal INEC chairman

Instead of tampering with those machines Prof Yakubu and his fraudulent INEC cam postpone the next elections. Why is he panicking ?

More like wanting to destroy evidence.

What happens to the data stored already? Abi Una Dey whine us ni? NotoBVARSReconfiguration

INEC seeks Appeal Court’s permission to reconfigure BVAS, seeks review of inspection ordersINEC seeks the review of the Court of Appeal’s order permitting Atiku of PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party to inspect the sensitive.... It's crystal clear already. They can't run away from the manipulation, from saying a man that came third is the Winner while giving the first, the third position... This is a joke. I hope the permission they sought will not jeopardize the on going inspection of their material evidence in the disputed presidential election. Because if access is allowed to them they erase some data and fake technical glitch. A man that came third is manipulating them 🤣
