Thousands of formerly incarcerated people in Minnesota woke up Saturday morning with a right they lacked the day prior.

, 55,000 individuals who previously were deprived of voting rights now can register to vote, the most significant expansion of that right in Minnesota in a half-century.

The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled last month that the state constitution does not guarantee convicted felons the right to vote. House File 28 passed the Democratic-held Minnesota Senate and House following the court's decision.

Wow, your kidding

Are felony’s the ones you want making decisions Hmmm I’d prefer innocent people voting not those that have proven to make bad choices

If they did their time they deserve to vote

The people most angry about 'criminals getting to vote' are the same who are ok with sitting members of Congress trying to commit treason. The difference is, the people getting their rights back actually PAID their debt to society.

Apparently MN is confident criminals only vote for democrats

No person or persons being incarcerated for any amount of time should be allowed to vote. The right to vote does not include the imprisoned.

Democrats will do anything for a vote..

Win

Republican 🙄

Sick

It’s crazy that individuals who have repaid their debt to society and who are still required to pay taxes, would be denied the right to vote. Of course our radical right wing Supreme Court won’t see fit to declare this denial of voting right by some states to be unconstitutional.

you019258 Buying votes, one felon at a time….

So glad convicted felons will now have a voice in our nation's future. 🤦‍♂️

That’s whack.

If they've done all their time and paid their fines, all their rights should be restored, including their gun rights.

?

If a politician ran on getting all murderers out of jail

If you did your time. This should happen in every state

Democrats have get their votes somewhere

Always prudent to include the wisdom of felons when shaping public policy

Democrats recognise their core voter demographic, criminals.

Jesus the dems and liberals are tearing this country down from the inside. I don’t understand why people can’t see this!

I think illegal immigrants should vote to

Wouldn’t it be funny if they all voted and they voted Republican?

Booooooo!

Criminals are taking over

they did there time and now return to public life while gqp and conservatives go free with multi million dollar crime.

My state is like that too

Good. As it should be. If someone has completed their sentence and are otherwise free, they should have the right to vote. Most states agree.

Criminals hit the jackpot with the Democrat party.

About god damn time

Hope it goes better than FL & they actually have an agency setup to confirm whether all your terms were met - in fl they sent out voter id's & then arrested people for voting, what a cluster f

“Formerly incarcerated people” 🤣

While this is good news for Democrats, how many will actually show up to vote?

So excited that felons can vote in Minnesota. Such a long time in coming. That state will improve immediately 🤡😂🤡😂

Oh so manipulation? Who are they voting for do you reckon? Who fought for them to vote?
