Larry Householder’s corruption trial is nearly over. Here’s how we got here

COLUMBUS, Ohio—The corruption trial of former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and ex-Ohio Republican Party Chair Matt Borges is set to wrap up in the coming days after six weeks of hearings, arguments, delays and even occasional arguments with the judge.

FirstEnergy has admitted to paying $60 million in bribe money to Householder and his allies to secure the passage of House Bill 6 – which gave FirstEnergy-owned nuclear power plants a $1 billion-plus ratepayer bailout. Borges, charged with the same crime, stands accused of helping the scheme by offering a $15,000 bribe to a worker with an organization that tried to repeal HB6.

Since the last one? Democrats are still doing time for that one...
