Sen. Marco Rubio has reintroduced a bill to make daylight saving time permanent, which was unanimously approved by the Senate last year but wasn't voted on by the House.

in less than a year after the early morning darkness proved dangerous for school children and public sentiment changed.is the next time we change clocks with daylight saving time returning at 2am.

Clocks are set forward one hour to "spring forward" so we lose an hour.daylight saving time used to run from April to October but the Energy Policy Act of 2005 extended it by approximately four weeks.

I hope not. I hate dark morning & trying to get kids to bed when the sun is still shining.

Yawn Since all my clocks now reset themselves, I don’t mind DST.

I hope this happens but either way, there would be a great benefit to starting the school day later for kids. It isn’t good for their health and growth for them to be waking up at 5/6am to get to school on time.

Yes, let's make DST permanent.

Wake me IF it happens. Hell, wake me early if necessary

Oh, so we're doing this again?

Amen!

Lol again....people who dont understand why it exists smdh There will be days we're it will be dark at 10 am in michigan.

marcorubio & GOP following in the steps of Moscow as usual

If we stop changing our clocks, I really have a strong opinion to go to Standard Daylight Time -and just get used to sunrise and sunset. Let the world do its thing!

I’d prefer making Standard Time permanent, rather than DST. I like to see the sun rise.

Let’s do it. Fine by me.

Save this post so you can run it again next year…and the year after that, and…

🤞🏼

We should make standard time permanent. Daylight time is artificial and detrimental to our health and well-being.

Been hearing this my entire adult life. I'll believe it when it actually happens. I do wish it would though.

Again?

🙄

standard time only please

lauferlaw One way or the other, I don’t care. Just a single time year round.

A) This will never happen; B) New England should secede into the Atlantic time zone anyway; and C) That won't happen either.

No. If anything we need to stay on standard time. Studies show that’s best for our bodies

We TRIED it already. Kids died!! If anything, drop DST, and let people adjust their schedules around normal time.

I thought it was already passed. Now I learn the house didn’t vote on it? Is there a reason why?

Yes please!

jbarro makes a sensible case for keeping daylight savings time. Do we really want to be sending our kids to school in the dark?

SpeakerMcCarthy RepMTG mattgaetz RepAndyBiggsAZ RepGosar RepDonaldsPress RepClayHiggins HouseGOP SenMarcoRubio Kat_Cammack - please pass this bill already! Enough of this back and forth. Let us enjoy our sunshine, it’s one of the only bright spots in life these days.

Just do it

This should be a bi-partisan YES!

They just keep dusting off this article and reprinting it every year!

About friggin time ⏰!!

the clocks change 'semi-annually' (twice per year). 'Biannual' means every two years. No charge for the proofing... 😉

'Congress last made daylight saving time permanent in the 1970s. But the decision was reversed in less than a year after the early morning darkness proved dangerous for school children and public sentiment changed.' Winter sunrises after 9:00 in some places? No, thanks. 👎

So we’d set our clocks forward one hour in the spring and then again the next spring…(repeating)

Ah, yes. Add a new law to make permanent something that could just as easily be done away with. That's the ticket

I would like more nighttime. Thanks.

Good

I want this. 4:00 sunrise becomes 5:00. 9:00 sunsets become 10:00.

Whatever equals staying light later I’m all for.

What does this mean? Spring forward and never fall back again or the opposite? We just don't spring forward?

Please no! I love DST in the summer for the later sunsets.
