DOJ attorneys told a federal appeals court that former President Donald Trump does not have absolute immunity from civil lawsuits stemming from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
A federal judge had previously ruled against Trump's efforts to dismiss lawsuits filed by the two police officers and members of Congress.
Eliminate the qualified immunity doctrine. It is a shield that allows abuse. Trump should face consequences for his actions. However, it is a little rich that the police can sue Trump, but the police stand behind qualified immunity when they are sued for abuse!
