“We oppose the continuance and the family of Dan Markel, they don’t want to be heard today, but they did want the court to know that they oppose the continuance as well,” state attorney Sarah Dugan said.Dan Markel was murdered in the driveway of his home on July 19, 2014, amidst a bitter custody battle with his ex-wife, Wendi Adelson, who with her family immediately came under suspicion.

Cops say this trio — from left, Luis Rivera, Katherine Magbanua and Sigfredo Garcia — were paid $100,000 to kill Dan Markel.Wendi Adelson and her mother Donna have been named by prosecutors as co-conspirators but have so far not been charged.
