The British sandwich chain is aiming to double in size. Staff at the chain also receive free food and discounts at other retailers. But the latest change is to keep the firm in line with an upcoming law change.

Shop staff at Pret a Manger are to receive their third pay rise in a year.

But the latest hike is to ensure the company does not fall foul of a boost to the minimum wage, which will change by law on 1 April.

Is that why everything there is now a couple of quid more. I looked to buy a almond croissant the other day and decided against it. I don't mind a bit of increase but passing it onto customers solely. Seems a bit much. Probably hurt them in long run.

They do not pay proper tax, that's why
