Letters to the Editor: Serious about the drought? Pay farmers handsomely to give up their water rights (via latimesopinion )

between California and the other states drawing from the Colorado River. Unfortunately, he failed to mention the one ingredient that will actually solve the impasse: money.

If other users want that water for cities or other more profitable agribusinesses, then they should agree to pay the farmers to give up their water and their farms while earning the same income from the sale of their water rights. So the state is going to wait until the Colorado River is close to drying up like the Great Salt Lake. And then what?

opinion How about just stop developing a desert known for mega droughts lasting hundreds of years? That's the problem.

opinion You're sick. Water feeds America.

opinion Exactly. It's not really a 'drought', it's overuse of resources. Colorado river flows are only down 5ish% due to climate change.

opinion This looks like an old pick, put a today pick of it up let's see how it change. Press manipulation

opinion The drought seems to be fixing itself, better find a new emergency to write about, this one will be ending itself soon

opinion No.. possibly lease yearly

opinion You only know your own ego. I am nobody and I don’t feel according to your mind. There is nothing like ignorance. Just look away. That’s it. This phone will disappear soon enough. Conflicts of interest. I was abused as a child! It was on my face!!!!!! Statute of limhappy birthday

opinion I can hear a million people slither in my ear and complain it’s because of youuuuuuuu Kate your attitude I am a Gypsy on my own taking care of a dog. I have no hot water and no money and no food. The law professors know and don’t care don’t care don’t care I cry everyday

opinion I have never heard about a single problem that Democrats do not propose to fix by THROWING OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY AT IT.

opinion We just had a series of major rainstorms where hundreds of millions of gallons of water could have been collected and stored instead of wasted. Why is California not investing in infrastructure projects such as reservoirs and other collection methods to collect rainwater?

opinion On my Facebook page there was no happy birthday I had to write my own and only three people gave a thumbs up.👍 I didn’t even know them.

opinion That or just make people pay the true cost of water.

opinion stop spreading propaganda. reservoirs are full and thats without the snow melt. were officially out of the drought
