Meanwhile, here in the US, Acosta and the other CNN liberal media types think they are being persecuted because folks are making silly memes about them.

The Myanmar government is in need to review, it’s ‘Official Secrets Act’ and it’s link, with the legal constraints to the freedom of the journalists. Amal Clooney’s voice must be hear by the Myanmar government, if steps, to change it’s international isolation, are present.

What is journalism? Locking up journalists is a crime.

Americans like you just KILL Reuters staff & then threaten to prosecute Assange when LIVE VIDEO of YOUR troops killing them gets leaked ,You are a world class hypocrite who needs to drop ALL charges against Assange if ya want to be taken seriously at all,

You can just take their flag after all that’s what you are good at.

Wish we could do that in USA with false publishers.

Poor guys. I hope that we will soon hear some good news about their cases. May God give them and their loved ones patience and strength to get through this.

like the mass killings of hundreds of thousands of muslims in Myanmar is not an enough reason to sanction this country ?!

Burma

Isn't this the place jack was praising so much?

The way they covered Khashoggi, you wouldn’t think reporters being killed, jailed and abused happens all around the world everyday. Countries like China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia are amongst the biggest offenders. Yet, these cases and many others get zero coverage. Why?

Hypocrite much?

their face obviously shows truth.

Sounds like a story Acosta might be interested in...,send him there...

Sorry. Sounds like they were spies, and some how had access to secret info and two trials! Interestingly the facts in the article are left out, cementing my belief they were traitors to their country! I'm told to believe the Unicorn and fairy dust theory of the author! NO!

Where's the outrage of the FakeNewsMedia for these journalists? Doesn't fit the email narrative of the day.

Hmmm....but no comment on Khashoggi.... curious

Did they break a law in the country? If so, the howls of protest should be about the severity of the sentence not about foreign ideas of injustice or press freedom.

This is another reason why Myanmar should face severe sanctions!

Maybe they're not innocent and could be doing like what your Jordanian manager of Syria office was doing in the early days of the Syria crisis: faking news and making up stories to push the people to riot.

Judge Aung Naing said Friday that lawyers for Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo failed to submit enough evidence to prove their innocence. The men were convicted for having government documents in their possession. They were arrested on Dec. 12, 2017, in the country's main city, Yangon, immediately after having a meal to which police officers had invited them. Myanmar Court Rejects Appeal Of 2 Imprisoned Reuters JournalistsWa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo were reporting on a massacre of Rohingya men when they were arrested and later convicted of violating the country's Official Secrets Act. They were sentenced to seven years. Lock them up. Throw away the keys. Quick, somebody call jack to write some more tourism ads for Myanmar. Without freedom of the press 'democracy' is impossible. The current government is indicative of a military dictatorship in the guise of democracy. But each country is sovereign no matter how badly it conducts itself.
