The Lagos State Police Command arraigned the suspects before Magistrate O.Y Adefope on three counts of armed robbery and unlawful possession of cartridges.
The duo, alongside a fleeing suspect identified simply as Inspector, had on December 30, 2022, carried out a robbery attack using a white minibus, charms and 11 rounds of live cartridges at Lekki, in the Ajah area of the state. The police prosecutor, Magaji Haruna, told the court the offences were punishable under Sections 411, 330 and 297 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.
The charges read in part, “That you, Giwa Owolabi, Adeniyi Oyedeji and others still at large, on December 30, 2022, around 2am at Lekki Ajah, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit armed robbery, unlawful possession of live cartridges and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.
