Most banks customers were confused on Monday as commercial banks rejected the old Naira notes they wanted to deposit. This is despite a Supreme Court ruling stopping the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from implementing the February 10, 2023 deadline for swapping of old Naira notes for the newly redesigned Naira notes.

Most banks customers were confused on Monday as commercial banks rejected the old Naira notes they wanted to deposit. “I went to First bank in Akute and I was told by bank officials that they are not collecting the old money, only New notes, even the pos operator beside my house called someone she knows in first and she was told they are not collecting the old notes,” a bank customer told SaharaReporters. Some states had also challenged the naira redesign policy in court.

I doubt if they are rejecting them. At least, not in my Area.

Yes now! Is there any respect for court's ruling in Nigeria?

Lawd Baelish deceived some people

MBuhari deserves 3rd term, he has done well taking Nigeria to the next level 😀😀😀😀😀. Una head way no correct go correct if una mistakingly vote OfficialAPCNg

Confused nation

This is simple, all those banks involved should be taken to court, and let us test the law. Where are the lawyers?

What is cenbank saying about this.

Naija na the country wey we find ourselves wahala be news naria notes and fuel scarcity, banks and individuals rejected old naria notes. What a beautiful punishment by CBN.

Dei play

Hahaha 😄😁😁😆😆😆😆😆😆

PMB, kindly sack CBN gov. He's ruining our economy.

I just want that useless country to end as soon as possible.

Lawless enclave.

No be CBN governor told the bank earlier to be receiving the old note till further notice but they shouldn't give it back in circulation

Really ? So you get old naira note for the past 100 days and you no fit do cash swab . You dey find trouble

Is bad plz! The should know Nigeria is our only contry that we have let them notbe the sim of coming down of our contry plz! Take note

On election day pls don't vote wisely just vote peter obi i no trust una wisdom😏

Ruling where it lacks jurisdiction?

Take it to Kaduna state, El-rufai will accept it in his own bank.

This anarchy and deceit. The cenbank order even before any law suit arise stated that “the old notes will cease to legal tender on Feb.10th while bank will still accept it till feb.17th” the same CBN gov told the NASS the bank will collect note even thereafter. Today is 15th

So one month is not enough for us, within the three months notice,no new naira was available unless to politicians

The banks are the cause of all these, now Buhari is saying they warned us three months ago but two or three weeks ago banks were dispensing old currency

Banks are to mop the old naira from circulation. And circulate the new notes. The bank are jus there to majorly frustrate the CBN. There should not be confusion in all of this. Its simple.

Nice one

APC has brought hardship to Nigerians and some dunce are still shouting broom broom up and down

Record/video any bank that rejects the old notes..

So much confusion and hardship in the land.

That's why you need to go back to school and study law instead journalism. By law only the CBN Gov reserves the right to give order on a legal tender and no other authority. And he hasn't, so the Supreme Court only did the normal rubbish and ignorant drama they are known for.

No new currency in circulation Old notes rejected No network for ussd's No cash in ATM's Allah mun tuba Kayafema laifuffukan mu Wanda muka sani da Wanda bamu sani bah

Because i don't know the problem of our bank self

Just dey play😅😅😅

Confusion everywhere...

Nobody take supreme court of Nigeria serious, they're Joker's .

That man in asorock is the cause of the problems in Nigeria today It shall not go well with him his family and followers in Jesus Mighty Name Amen 🙏

If the banks in Nigeria 🇳🇬 refuse their old Naira notes. They should take their money to kaduna republic they will still accept it there till next year

Nigeria is gone

CBN that has already warned banks, let's see who has more authority.. Kano state governor is busy arresting and locking up shops of businesses rejecting old note...

No new naira note! Life is hard in Nigeria! Revolution should be prepare to take place now🕵

Useless country . New currency no dey . How can ppl survive in this country Banks don’t dispense the new naira notes. Transfers no dey go. Tueeh

Na head the pain them

Maybe we should start revolution now in Nigeria since there's no law again Nigeria🕵

Uba bank idi Ape. Access bank idi Ape. Fideliy bank idi Ape all of those mofos reject old note today

Which bank rejected..

The Angels of Biafra is going to position them as they position some enemies of Biafra soon.

Make dem come use old notes rejected by banks come but votes

Like I don go cash out old note like 5k for POS with high charges 🤣🤣🤣 God abeg oo

My guy told me this thing this evening I didn't believe. Said to watch out

Buh no be 17th dey say make dey stop 🛑 collection of the note ni?

Doesn't it make any sense if I may ask?

A country that doesn't respect it's courts of law What else do you expect? 🤷

Nigerian Banks are not part of the suit. They don't take orders from SC. The take orders from CBN, and if CBN has not given them orders.

Wahala wahala wahalaaaa!!!

Confusion everywhere. This is what you get when you vote incompetency and mediocrity. Deep rooted hatred for one another and religion have held Nigeria down since its independence. All hope will be lost if the wrong people are voted in.

Charge them to court

Even me cunfuse

Supreme Court has no jurisdiction in the matter as it is not the court of first instance when there is dispute between an agency of the federal government & state government thats for the High court. cenbank has not bridged any law so the supreme court has no authority here.

Why do I have the feeling that that the banks and Central Bank wants to frustrate the people into taking to the streets in protest? Who's trying to manipulate the system?

There's this thinking in Nigeria that the supreme court can tell others what to do, I'm not sure that's the case.

Lol. Does Buhari respect Supreme Court judgements? If He did, Nnamdi Kanu would be a free man today.
