The case is pierced with racist taunts and threats but that’s no excuse for the killing, but Coffey noted that his client reacted and had no time — split seconds — to form the required intent the Crown needs to prove murder. And by the time Campbell was done spraying bullets on Patola Private in the Greensboro area, one man, Abdifatah Osman, was dead —shot in the chest and back of the head — and a woman, Briana Crispin, lay wounded after a bullet hit her arm.

She testified she doesn’t recall going to the police station, let alone what she told the detective in the May 2018 videotaped statement.
