CBC Executive Director Vincent Edwards says Nichols' parents have accepted an invitation from Horsford to be his guest at Mr. Biden's State of the Union address next month. "I think and Scott should sit down again quickly to see if we can revive that effort," Durbin said Sunday on ABC's"This Week." "Senator Scott has been working on police funding and reform for the better part of the last decade," a Scott spokesperson told CBS News."He never left the negotiating table and has encouraged his colleagues on the other side of the aisle to join him in his continued efforts to increase safety in our communities."

I want to see reforms though I do have some worries that this will become somewhat of a police overfunding exercise as police departments are being filled with military equipment which should probably worry people. I mean what's the endgame there?
It's good to see someone finally stay on the reform
A few dozen progressive reforms already passed in my state of California, and supposedly this month has been heavy on the police related shootings. Such reforms will work out the same in congress.
Every cop car gets a drone that automatically pops up out of compartment on roof. With camera, lights, speaker, and infrared camera, when launched it activates a remote operator & records, helps apprehend and could help deescalate situations by having a therapist on hand too..
Maybe don't hire police based off of their skin color and instead choose the most qualified. Let's just start there.

So glad some are serious on reform. Glad too that who ever is not willing to demand reform and stop the abuse, torture and killings will be on record.
One thing is they needed cops so bad after so many left that standards were lowered. They also need funding for counseling and ongoing checking in with cops.
I find it ironic that only black people get Congress to move on issues... White people are disproportionally killed on your garbage country all the time and nobody seems to care. Which of strange given that there are less than 1.3 billion white people in the universe.
Republicans stand squarely in the way of gun control, police reform, and police union reform, just as they have stood in the way of vaccine requirement, and masking for covid. Republicans are agents of disunion, chaos, and death.
How about bad black behavior reform?….
Reform and democratic policies is precisely what led to that beating.
This issue and gun control will arrive DOA in congress! These men and women are from an era that created gun ownership and beating African Americans. They see it as a right to carry guns and control the black community.

Can we put forth some criminal reforms? Like,… do not commit crimes? Don’t steal. Don’t carjack. Don’t sell drugs. Don’t use illegal drugs.
We have to ask, why was SCORPION Unit created ? 'Street Crimes Operation to Restore Peace in Our Neighborhoods' What was going on in that community to demand such action by Police ?
Defunding Scorpion was a good start.
