Bung, wife's graft appeal held up by delay in getting court records

Deputy public prosecutor Law Chin How said the High Court registry has yet to provide the appeal records, which included the written judgment and notes of evidence. “The Court of Appeal has fixed another case management on March 22,” Law told FMT after an online case management before deputy registrar Khairi Haron today.He said the parties would appear before trial judge Rozina Ayob on Friday to update her on the status of the case.

On Dec 9, High Court judge Azhar Abdul Hamid allowed the prosecution’s preliminary objection that Bung and Zizie were wrong to file motions, supported by affidavits, seeking a revision of Rozina’s decision.The prosecution said the couple ought to have only sent a letter to Azhar to request the review. Bung faces two counts of receiving bribes amounting to RM2.2 million and RM262,500 as gratification when he was Felcra’s chairman.
