JUST IN: The Justice Department has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google over its online advertising business.

"Competition in the ad tech space is broken, for reasons that were neither accidental nor inevitable," the DOJ wrote in the lawsuit. "One industry behemoth, Google, has corrupted legitimate competition in the ad tech industry by engaging in a systematic campaign to seize control of the wide swath of high-tech tools used by publishers, advertisers, and brokers, to facilitate digital advertising.

The problem is if not them who? Because Google has a tried and proven advertising machine at works.

I think from the beginning Google had the insight to see the possibilities that the internet had pertaining to Advertising, so they put an infrastructure in place before everyone else did. You can't fault a company for seeing the future.

Absolutely. I found while advertising, I hade to pay for clicks that never reached my websites and as a publisher never got paid for my visitors that paid Google for a spot with me. They also allowed injection scripts stealing my traffic - and got paid by Google.

The bias is crazy. Apple is laughing right now.

Google is going to argue that they’ve already self-regulated themselves when they created Alphabet, but they have a monopoly on search, email, digital advertising, music and television (YouTube), news distribution…
