The Florida Supreme Court, by a 4-1 margin, rejected local officials' argument that they were immune to the penalties, which the court found were within the state's power to impose.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody called the ruling a "big win" on Twitter and said the state's attorneys had "fought hard to make sure local governments can't trample on" Floridians' gun rights. The dispute goes back to 2018, when local government entities including Miami Beach wanted to restrict firearms from government facilities and ban sales of large-capacity detachable magazines, among other gun control measures. The lawsuit came in the wake of a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, that left 17 dead.
Florida is a haven for criminals
This is one sick should be it’s own county. An enemy country.
Yes because restricting guns is anti-constitutional. You're going to need a revolution to remove/amend the constitution, specifically the 1st and 2nd - which you'll lose miserably. Just leftist standing on graves to push an agenda. Again.
Good. We need more rights, not less.
Stupidity is a helluva drug Dad arrested after 4-year-old boy captured playing with gun alone
It's concerning that Florida's top court has ruled that local officials can be punished for restricting guns. This decision may limit the ability of local communities to enact measures to protect public safety. It's important for the safety of citizens
