A month after the Gomeroi people lost a legal battle to stop the Narrabri Gas Project, they're taking it to the Federal Court with fresh hopes they can block it.

abc.net.au/news/native-title-appeal-complicates-santos-narrabri-gas-project/101863842Gomeroi traditional owners in north-west New South Wales have filed an appeal against the National Native Title Tribunal's "gut-wrenching" decision to permit the contentious Narrabri Gas Project.

Gomeroi woman Sue-Ellen Tighe said the decision to appeal was "fantastic" as many people were "gut-wrenched" by the Tribunal's original decision."I have more faith in the Federal Court system than I have in the National Native Title Tribunal." "Has that ever proven to be the case in the past where [fossil fuel companies] have made these claims?" Ms Tighe said.

Great Stuff

One thing is certain, she sure isn't adhering to a traditional subsistence diet.

Don't they know that their Centrelink cheques don't grow on trees?

Just another cash grab. Throw them a few bucks and they'll be good to go.

By the time they are ready to go the economics will kill the project. Why? Just because you have capacity to supply doesn't mean there are buyers. Wind and solar are killing fossil fuel use. Hells Bells. When a private individual is putting in a 2.5 MW wind turbine gas is dead

Why do we need a voice when the indigenous population know how to use the court system like every other Australian. At least court rulings are binding whereas the voice advice to parliament is just advisory.

'Sue-Ellen said the decision to appeal was 'fantastic' as many people were 'gut-wrenched' by the Tribunal's original decision.' How many people? I get even a handful of people have the right to appeal. But the Fed Court needs to shut this down quickly it's BS. Majority rules.

Its all about money and not environment for all involved as usual

People have got to get tough with these corporate monsters.

Another trouble making fake aboriginal.
