'The first act of the new House Republicans is to pass a bill based on a demonstrable falsehood' - ChristineRomans on the GOP-controlled House voting to roll back funding for the Internal Revenue Service

In its first vote on legislation, the new Republican-controlled House approved a bill Monday that would rescind nearly $80 billion for the Internal Revenue Service – with key GOP lawmakers making the exaggerated claim that the money would be used to hire 87,000 auditors who will target hardworking Americans. “House Republicans just voted unanimously to repeal the Democrats’ army of 87,000 IRS agents,” tweeted speaker Kevin McCarthy after the vote.

4,000 customer service reps were hired last year The IRS is already using the new funds to ramp up hiring for work outside of its audit operations. In October, the IRS announced it had hired 4,000 customer service representatives to answer phones and provide other taxpayer assistance. At the time, the agency said it intended to hire another 1,000 staffers by the end of 2022.

ChristineRomans demonstrable falsehood'? CNN showing their side of the news only? a bill board could do as much. Fake news. 87000 government jobs when the economy is slowing is a burdon on tax payers. Do we honestly need IRS with guns showing upo at our homes? Will illegals also pay?

ChristineRomans Biden said he would veto it so unless the GOP can get 2/3 of both the House and Senate the bill is dead upon arrival at the Whitehouse! Just more wasteful spending by Congress when they could be passing bills that actually help America!

ChristineRomans Biden should veto this

ChristineRomans Literally anything the GOP passes in the House will either fail in the Senate or get vetoed by Biden

ChristineRomans Everyone in or associated with the US government as well as the American news media should be connected to a polygraph when speaking.

ChristineRomans great start...

ChristineRomans Let’s start w/ the rich and work our way down

ChristineRomans This is untrue. Democrsts used the IRS as a weapon against conservative groups & people. If it happened to Democrats they & media would be up in arms saying it was a threat to democracy etc. It should be treated same regardless of party affiliation

ChristineRomans Republicans were the most at talking about making America great again. They've been tarrying it down and shitting on it!!!

ChristineRomans

ChristineRomans See CNN here is part of your problem, you are using your own biased news employees' opinions as facts. That's why your a garbage network

ChristineRomans You need 87000 people? Get lost

ChristineRomans So there is 87,000 people that will be hired?

ChristineRomans Great. Now the poor people trying to make a few extra dollars selling items on eBay may not get taxed into oblivion. Imagine thinking these 87000 agents were going after the rich. 😂😂

ChristineRomans Sounds about white

ChristineRomans Then why do you care so much? Lol.

ChristineRomans Only a left wing outlet would want more IRS involvement. Government take-over.

ChristineRomans Don’s scared cause he’s used to sitting next to that zombie Poppy Harlow

ChristineRomans How did that move out of CNN Center go? 😆 🤣 😂 😹

ChristineRomans If they get rid of the tax code, they won't need agents. Problem solved.

ChristineRomans That’s what Republicans do best - they lie. Trump taught them that.

ChristineRomans Let's just go to the 'Fair Tax' and abolish the IRS.

ChristineRomans CNN is fakenews propaganda

ChristineRomans Cry more

ChristineRomans What's wrong with abolishing the IRS?
