The shuttered Jackson, Mississippi, clinic, known as the Pink House, is being painted white. The building's new owner says he doesn't "want to get into a political issue" about its history.Rogelio V. Solis / AP fileJACKSON, Miss. — The building that once housed Mississippi’s last abortion clinic has sat empty for the past six months — but now it has a new owner and new plans for its future.
“That was then. This is now,” he said. “I want to do something that the community will embrace. I want it to be a positive thing. I don’t want to get into a political issue about it.”, after a state trigger law banning nearly all abortions took effect following the Supreme Court’s decision. Clinic owner Diane Derzis told NBC News at the time that she would open a new facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
The clinic was across the street from a bustling retail and dining strip of Jackson’s Fondren neighborhood. On occasion, abortion rights opponents would yell at patrons of nearby businesses.
Wouldn’t be ironic if it was turned into a HustlerStores
closing the clinic will not stop abortions, Women didn’t start having abortions when RvW passed just stopped dying, should a women have to carry a dead fetus bc she cannot get an abortion. you don’t care about the living, let see if it happens to your daughter, niece, wife, gf
Sad the responses are by men. Have you ever had unprotected sex? Have you adopted any kids?how about the living children, ms ranked lowest in education, healthcare , childcare, but highest in obesity
This is a much better use of this building
