Former Republic of Ireland footballer Anthony Stokes has been charged in connection with an alleged dangerous driving incident in which Gardai say a quantity of drugs were also found.
They were then released from the station and have yet to be given a formal date to appear in court in relation to the charge. The former Republic of Ireland footballer and Celtic player was banned from contacting his former partner and her mother for four years in September 2019 and was handed four-year non-harassment orders after he admitted stalking.But the footballer later admitted breaching the non-harassment orders by repeatedly sending emails and texts to his former girlfriend and repeatedly calling her mother in November and December 2019.
Now the wanted footballer has turned up in Dublin - and is facing a charge before the courts here in relation to the alleged dangerous driving incident.Stokes has been making headlines over the last number of years for a variety of damaging incidents. Stokes’s attack on Anthony Bradley meant the Elvis impersonator had to travel to Budapest for surgery.
