Liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Wednesday told legal educators she felt a “sense of despair” at the direction taken by the US Supreme Court during its previous term, during which its conservative majority overturned the constitutional right to abortion.

“I did have a sense of despair about the direction my court was going,” Sotomayor said, appearing by video feed before hundreds of law professors at the Association of American Law Schools’ annual meeting in San Diego. In the Dobbs ruling, the court voted 6-3 along ideological lines to uphold a Republican-backed Mississippi law that bans abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy and 5-4 to overturn Roe.

Please, she's a joke

Can you imagine waking up next to THAT in the morning?

Imagine how the babies felt

How can you be shocked when you probably had a hand in the leak?

Sotomayor is another fake Catholic.

It was always unconstitutional. The federal gov should not constantly work at taking away state’s rights

Really?! Shell-shocked?It was in the news months before official.

Wah

She had to know it was on shaky legal grounds.. hell, even Ginsburg admitted as much. But Sotomayor will jump head first into dissents that go directly against the Constitution with no problem.

Who cares?

repubs thought it was a big win. but it killed their 'red wave' dead.

It’s because she likes aborting babies…

So what ever happened to the “leaker” findings? Why hasn’t the media requesting answers?

SupremeCourtLeaker

She should cry about it

interpret the laws, and stop having feelings. Roe was based on shaky law. You had to know that. I want Roe to be law too, but we are using the hand we are dealt. Back to the case law, Soto.

Leaker

That's because you're evil

Should've been shocked when it was leaked...or Kavanagh was threatened.

Perfect example as to why she shouldn’t be on the Supreme Court! It’s personal for her and never once saw that an abortion is not a right under the constitution. No one has the right to kill any human.

So is this coming out ahead of her staff being identified as the leakers to justify their reason for doing it?

Diddums

Why. Roe v Wade was decided based on a lie. Norma Mccorvey said she was raped. She wasn't.

I guess better than being ice spiked for knowing the truth and wanting to say it.

She was the leaker

She sucks anyways

Is this normal that Supreme Court Judges give interviews?

Roe was legally unjustifiable. Even RBG knew it.

Same, girl. Same You don't have PTAD from an unnecessary procedure. You don't have to like it, but you don't have anything close to PTSD. So much so that she had her clerk leak the ruling and endanger the lives of several justices

Gorsuch dissent on Title 42: Supreme Court not ‘policymakers of last resort’In a recent case before the Supreme Court, several Republican states argued in Arizona v. Mayorkas that the Title 42 orders — which essentially allow the federal government to prevent certain people from coming into the country during a public health emergency because of the fear of communicable disease (in this case, COVID-19) — must remain in place.

Will the Supreme Court let lower courts kill charter schools?Academic researchers have been focusing recently on students’ pandemic-induced “learning losses.” But the bigger story, largely being ignored, is the fact that there often wasn’t much “learning” to lose. The supreme court better step in and stop this crap, our kids are receiving a shitty education with the schools now and vouchers are desperately needed
