A 72-YEAR-OLD man who is wanted in Nothern Ireland on multiple charges of making indecent images of children has appeared before the High Court in Dublin.
The offences contained in the warrant are alleged to have occurred on dates between July 2004 and September 2007. The warrant seeking his surrender adds that sometime in 2013 Donaldson was discovered to be living in Dublin. Arising out of the investigation of the computer charges, where it is alleged that he has breached the 1978 Protection of Children Act, were brought against Donaldson.At the High Court today, Ms Justice Tara Burns heard evidence from Detective Garda Malachy Dunne of the Garda Extradition Unit, who told the court that he arrested Donaldson at an address at Botanic Avenue in Dublin 9 today.
The gardaí said that when asked if he knew what the allegations contained in the warrant were about Donaldson replied, “no comment.”Donaldson, who was represented by solicitor and barrister in court, did not speak during the brief hearing.
So he's been living in Dublin for a decade and has only just been arrested?
