Although it was not a surprise, it was satisfying to see the January 6 Select Committee recommend to the Department of Justice that multiple criminal indictments be issued against former President Donald Trump and others who are believed to have facilitated one of the most ugly days in the history of our country, the day on which for the first time in American history, a Ppesident sought to preclude the peaceful transfer of power from taking place.
Members of the Committee: seven Democrats and two Republicans, can hold their heads high. They performed extraordinary work over a period of over one and a half years, interviewing about a thousand witnesses and reviewing and compiling hundreds of thousands of documents. It originally appeared that they would be aided in their investigation by more Republicans, but the GOP quickly found it inconvenient to be seen as acting against a former President who remained popular with his minions.
For those who would claim that this was a kangaroo court, I would note that the most damning testimony emanated from Republicans and that Donald Trump would surely have been welcome to testify if he wished to challenge the veracity of the accounts that were offered as to his dereliction of duty and failure to honor the obligations that are laid out in the Constitution to which he swore an oath.

Lies, lies, and more lies. It was a kangaroo court. They only presented evidence that would make Trump look bad. FBI Agent Epps was the orchestrator of the Insurrection, not Trump patriots. Pelosi, DC Police, Capital police, ANTIFA and others were complicit.
