A combined armed security team has stopped a procession by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, otherwise known as Shi’ites in Kaduna State. The Shi’ites were said to be conducting birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Members of the sect had gathered in Maƙarfi Local Government Area of the state to begin the procession on Saturday morning when armed security personnel moved in to disperse them. Thereafter, there was a heavy security patrol across the main streets of the town in a move believed to check any possible threat to law and order.

A combined armed security team has stopped a procession by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, otherwise known as Shi’ites in Kaduna State.Members of the sect had gathered in Maƙarfi Local Government Area of the state to begin the procession on Saturday morning when armed security personnel moved in to disperse them.

Thereafter, there was a heavy security patrol across the main streets of the town in a move believed to check any possible threat to law and order. “The murderous joint security forces on Saturday hunted followers of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky in Maƙarfi LGA in Kaduna State, Nigeria by preventing them from conducting birth anniversary of the Noble Prophet Muhammad ,” a source told SaharaReporters.The government accused the group of killing a police officer and a journalist, but has yet to show evidence backing that claim.
