A wrongful-death lawsuit has been filed against William Michael Sandeson in connection with the August 2015 disappearance of fellow Dalhousie University student Taylor Samson. “The plaintiffs claim that the defendant murdered their son and brother and ask this honourable court to find him liable for the wrongful death of Taylor Samson,” the filing says. “The plaintiffs plead and rely on the Fatal Inquiries Act.” Samson, a 22-year-old physics student at Dal, has not been seen since the night of Aug. 15, 2015, when he went to Sandeson’s apartment on Henry Street in Halifax. His remains have not been located.
Last month, Sandeson was denied bail following a review by an Appeal Court panel. It was the fourth time he had sought bail, after previous attempts in Supreme Court in October 2015, January 2021 and October 2021.
