The Trudeau government says it’s earmarked more than $300 million to combat gun smuggling and improve gun tracing, in addition to increasing the maximum penalty for smuggling and trafficking in guns to 14 years from 10. But, to suggest criminals undeterred by a maximum 10-year sentence for smuggling guns will be deterred by a 14-year maximum sentence is absurd.

This is a great day for animal rights activists. A hunting ban in all but name. Start slowly, but ultimately ban long guns and stop hunting. Next up, bows. Stores that hunting equipment. This is how it starts not how it ends.
