I recall a great hew & cry from Republicans when, early on in the Biden admin, there was a report of an interception of a large shipment of drugs by the Border Patrol. By their reaction, one got the impression the GOPers were expecting it and Dems cut off their supply.
Prob has been exacerbated by drug war overall on enforcement side. Dealing w/these types of narcotics not only their use but smuggling & as a commercial product is made far worse by lack of a universal healthcare system, accessible treatment & retaining fed cannabis prohibition.
