A human rights lawyer and Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law, Dr. Monday Ubani, has called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to fish out and arrest those responsible for the attack on the facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Recall that in November, INEC offices in Ogun and Osun states were attacked by hoodlums, a development that led to the loss of 904 election boxes and 65,699 uncollected Permanent Voter Cards.

He said, “We have security agencies that are supposed to follow up on matters like this and do a discreet investigation with intelligence gathering to know who is behind it because it has happened before. If they are serious about it, they will do discreet investigation and know those behind it. Here, we allow things to go the way it is without being serious.

On his part, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Secretary of the Nigeria Bar Association, Afam Osigwe, said arresting those responsible for the attack would forestall a recurrence.
