They have repeated those allegations in a pending lawsuit against the church.
But Deputy District Attorney Reinhold Mueller said the church had tried to silence the women and that was the reason it took two decades for the case to get to trial. Mueller argued that Masterson was a man “for whom ‘no’ never meant ‘no,’” as shown by the graphic and emotional testimony of the three accusers.
An ex-girlfriend said she awoke to finding Masterson having sex with her without her consent. The defense said her claims were undermined because she later had sex with him after they broke up.
Is this like that Brianna Taylor trial where the district attorney would tell us that the jury decided not to charge the cops instead of saying they told the jury not to charge the cops. Or that they picked ppl who were on the side of the person on trial.

I fundamentally don’t understand how someone can get raped in 2003 and wait until 2016 to go to the police. I can barely wrap my head around waiting 1 year let alone 13 or whatever it was. If you are raped you go to the police the next day.

How is it that some people never have to answer for bad behavior while innocent people sit in prison for decades? Sure, there's a new trial, but we know scientologists will do their thing to ensure this is just swept under the rug. Victims, we see and support you!
I'm been waiting what feels like 3 year's for a verdict this is annoyingly ridiculous.
It would be interesting to know the jury’s split. Could be one sexist hold out who pressed not guilty or only one who thought he was guilty. It makes a world of difference to the prosecution. My guess is it’s the former.
