The judge branded the case as 'absolutely tragic.'

A 33-year old man was handed a suspended sentence today for sexually assaulting a man who later died at a 'chemsex' party in east Belfast.

He was handed a 16-month sentence, which was suspended for two years, by Judge Donna McColgan KC who branded the case as "absolutely tragic." Regarding the charge admitted by Rolka, the deceased then fell asleep but Rolka continued to touch him in a sexual manner. Following the death, police launched an investigation and spoke to Rolka, from Rosetta Park in Belfast.

As a result, the Crown withdrew the rape charge which was 'left on the books' and Rolka was today sentenced for intentionally sexually touching the deceased 'when he did not consent to the touching.'
