Hardly a big number of support for such a common sense bill

This to me proves that party politics can work, it's just worrying this isn't applied all the time. Cross party support shouldn't be a shock. We have to work with people we disagree with, It's about time even if in government or in opposition, our interest 1st.

All it takes for Republican Senators to do the right and honorable thing, is not be re-elected, and be asked to vote during the period of time between their election loss and the end of their proscribed term in office. That's it.

Senate Passes Bill to Protect Same-Sex and Interracial MarriageThe Senate passed bipartisan legislation Tuesday to protect same-sex marriages, an extraordinary sign of shifting national politics on the issue and a measure of relief for the hundreds of thousands of same-sex couples who have married since the Supreme Court’s 2015 decision that legalized gay marriage nationwide Now lying crying Schumer can wed his man fella. Not really. It requires stated to recognize marriages that are validly formed in another state, but does not ensure same sex nor interracial marriages in federal law. States can still make such unlawful if they choose forcing couples to relocate to marry.
