The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, sentenced the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to three months in prison for disobeying a valid court order.

The presiding judge, Mobolaji Olajuwon, issued the ruling on Tuesday following a suit filed by a former police officer, Patrick Okoli, who claimed he was unlawfully and compulsorily retired from the Nigerian police force, The Cable reports.

One important question, once he comes out from either detention or jail, will he still assume the office of the IGP? Or he’s seen as an ex-convict?

Nice! Who will enforce the sentence? And when will it be enforced? Are we getting an acting IGP for those months or permanently? Plenty questions to ask. Sha let them prove that the law and prison sentences is not just for the poor.
